For instance, regarding formaldehyde emissions in mattresses, the national standard GB 18580-2017 mandates levels below 0.124 mg/m³, while the even stricter standard GB/T 35607-2017 (Green Product Evaluation—Furniture) requires emissions to stay below 0.05 mg/m³.

Additionally, China's green product certification also requires companies to achieve certification under the three ISO standards: ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001. Furthermore, enterprises must not have experienced any major safety incidents or environmental pollution events in the past three years. After obtaining green product certification, companies are required to undergo regular annual inspections; failure to meet the standards will result in the revocation of their certification.
