Mattress When using it, everyone will naturally have one concern: Mattress How often should it be replaced? How often should it be washed? Many people believe that a mattress can last for decades—as long as it doesn’t sag— but mattresses do need to be replaced eventually, especially when certain signs appear. Let’s take a look at what those situations are. So, how often should you actually replace the mattress in your home?
Many consumers have a common misconception about the lifespan of mattresses, believing they can last for decades. While some mattresses claim to be durable enough for "20 or 30 years," the actual usable life typically ranges from 8 to 10 years. My recommendation is to replace your mattress every 8 years or so. If you notice any of the following signs, it’s best to replace your mattress immediately:

1. As you use the mattress over the years, you’ll notice that the filling material tends to compress first, causing the mattress to gradually sag. This happens because, over time, the constant pressure from sleeping continuously reduces the thickness of the filling layer—essentially, it gets "compacted."
2. A sagging mattress is different from the "indentation" issue mentioned earlier. If you notice your newly purchased mattress starting to "sag" shortly after use, or if you feel the mattress "wobbling" beneath you when you turn over—especially with a spring mattress—it’s worth paying close attention. This could very likely indicate that there’s a problem with the spring components inside the mattress.
3. Sleep is starting to decline—after all, sleep is the body’s best natural way of self-regulation. If you notice any of the following signs, it’s a clear indication that your current mattress may no longer be the right choice for you. Act fast and invest in a new one: - You wake up feeling achy and sore all over, as if your body hasn’t rested at all. - You constantly feel overheated while lying on the bed. - Even when your partner next to you shifts positions, it disturbs you noticeably. If you’re experiencing any of these issues, it’s time to pay attention—your mattress might be aging or already damaged. And if your mattress has been in use for more than 10 years, for the sake of your health, we recommend replacing it with a fresh, supportive new one.
